My food PHILOSOPHY
My food philiosophy is simple…
Love yourself enough to fuel your body with food that is both wholesome and enjoyable. Choose to eat foods that are full of nutritional goodness and that supports your body and your mind.
If your cells are happy then you are happy!
My body functions optimally on a low carb, wholesome diet. I have done alot of research and field work on different types of nutritional approaches and low carb is where I have landed. The low carb lifestyle allows me to manage my blood sugar affectively, whilst leaving me feeling energetic and satisfied. I actively choose low carb over keto (very low carb) because it suits my lifestyle and my body more. I do, however, coach in both of these realms.
What is nutritional COACHING?
The nutritional component of my coaching is to create a low carb lifestyle that is specific to you. After all, what I believe nutritional wellness to be, may not work for you.
This programme is not just an eating plan of yes, no and maybe. It is so much more than that.
It is a balance of what your enjoy, what your body needs and the environmental and social factors that influence your life. This is where nutritional coaching is so powerful.. It taps into the behavior around eating as well as the eating itself.
Together, we can create a lifestyle and nutritional plan that will be fun,exciting, nourishing and enjoyable.
WHAT IS A LOW CARB/KETO LIFESTYLE?
For most people, their greatest source of energy comes form carbohydrates over protein and fats. This results in metabolic inflexibility and inefficiency as the body is largely fueled from one source, namely carbohydrates.
Low carb or keto tips the scale and prioritises proteins and fats over carbohydrates. By making this adjustment to the nutritional distribution of carbs, proteins and fats, moves your body into a more flexible state of metabolism utilising both carbs and fats as energy sources.
This versatility in fuel usage has huge benefits to overall health and wellness
What is wholesome nutrition?
Wholesome food is nutritionally dense in their puriest form. In other words, if it is made by earth then eat it. If it made by man then don’t.
Processed and commercial foods have been stripped of their nutritional benefits and don’t support the body in any way. Yes, I won’t deny the alluring taste combination of salt, sugar and carb but unfortunately that is where it ends.
These processed manmade foods have been engineered to be addictive and these addidctive additives are both harmful to the body and simply don’t serve us. Instead they drive our brain into a vicious cycle of craving and withdrawal leaving us momentarily satisfied yet somehow unfulfilled.
Love to live + nutrition
Love to Live is an 12-16 week programme focusing on you, your condition and your nutrition . It includes weekly one on one sessions with worksheets or activities inbetween. Approximately 4-6 of the session will focus on nutrition whilst the remainder will be the Love to Live programme. By the end of the programme, you will have the folllowing..
